Two ways YOU can help right now!!

Before I get back to more posts about our recent trip to Ethiopia, I wanted to make you aware of two opportunities to make a difference for all the kids at Kind Hearts and Trees of Glory care-points.

FIRST:  UPDATE  As of 10:00 pm 12/18 - $5330 has been raised toward the $5600 goal!!!

UPDATE  As of 5:30 pm 12/17 - $4750 has been raised toward the $5600 goal!!!
UPDATE As of 9:30 pm 12/16, $3175 has been raised toward the $5600 goal!!!
Jessica and Nick Irvin, who sponsor a child at Trees of Glory, and recently visited the care-point, are leading a fund-raiser for livestock.  The government requires that the land given to Trees of Glory be utilized for generating funds for the care-point.  This is an important step towards more self-sufficiency, and the valuable land in question is alongside a river.  The care-point needs to acquire livestock to graze the field (so that milk can be produced and sold) and they will eventually plant a large vegetable garden to produce vegetables that can be sold.

Please click HERE to read the details.  Your tax-deductible donation to the livestock fund at Trees of Glory will have an immediate impact on the care-point.  FOR THE NEXT 3 DAYS ONLY - with every donation, Jessica will create a Christmas card (Christmas Trees of Glory) that can be presented to someone on your Christmas list in honor of your donation.  Please read more HERE!

SECOND:
11 year old Samantha Davidson (her family sponsors a child at Kind Hearts) has already raised funds to purchase shoes for 84 children at Trees of Glory!!  And when she found about about the 42 new children that just enrolled at Kind Hearts, and the 21 new children that just enrolled at Trees of Glory, she set out to sell more bottle-cap necklaces to raise funds for shoes for all 63 new children!!

She has almost hit her goal - and any additional funds raised will be used to purchase shoes for 55 precious boys and girls at Kechene care-point in Ethiopia.  This is another Children's Hopechest care-point we visited in November and my good friend from college, Greta Byers, is coordinating the sponsor program.  Click HERE for Greta's blog and more about Kechene.

Please click over to Samantha's blog to view her adorable bottle-cap necklaces.  At $5 each, they make wonderful stocking stuffers and 100% of the purchase price is donated to the shoe fund!!!  Please click HERE and help purchase shoes for the children who are shoe-less this Christmas!!

If you order by Friday, you'll still have them by Christmas!!
