Because I have worked with the kids at Kind Hearts and Trees of Glory CarePoints for three years, I have the unique perspective of being able to compare then and now.
Three years ago, there were moments when I would hold a child on my lap, and feel their bones through their layers of clothes as they shivered in the warm sun, their bodies too gaunt to even stay warm.
Teeth loose in their gums, open sores on arms, legs and scalps.
Watery eyes, flies buzzing... too tired to bother waving them away.
Slow movements - no energy to run and jump and play. And eyes with no sparkle ... no hope.
The turn-around happens swiftly though ... with nutritious food, plentiful clean water, medical care, education and LOVE, consistent love.
HOPE inches in and takes root, and the kids are transformed. Literally ... transformed.

We still have new children at Trees of Glory and Kind Hearts who are waiting for a sponsor family. If you are interested in sponsoring a child, please contact me at kjwistrom@yahoo.com. ($34 per month provides nutritious food, clean water, clothing, medical care, education and Christian discipleship for one child.) We have 96 new children and about 30 of the kids are still in need of a sponsor family!
