Letters from Afar ...

A few weeks ago, the kids at Kind Hearts and Trees of Glory care-points in Ethiopia sat down to write letters to their sponsor families - and those letters just arrived in the USA!!  95 letters came in from Kind Hearts, and 93 letters came from Trees of Glory - and they are all in the mail to sponsor families!

It's always disappointing when a sponsor family does not receive a letter, especially since they are faithfully writing letters and praying for that child.  Sometimes a child is sick or a family matter requires them to be away from the care-point - and it just happened to be the day letters were being written.  But despite that, 188 letters are on the way!

By September, 90 new children will be enrolling at the care-points (40 at Trees of Glory and 50 at Kind Hearts).  Each of those children will need a sponsor family to provide for their attendance at the care-point where they receive nutritious food, clean water, clothing, medical care, education and Christian discipleship.

Your sponsorship of $34 per month provides for the needs of one child, and your letters and prayers demonstrate your love and concern.  If you are interested in sponsoring a child, please email me at kjwistrom@yahoo.com and I will add you to my waiting list and contact you as soon as the children enroll in September.

Our team of 22 volunteers will be in Ethiopia Nov 11 - 21 to work with the kids and continue building long-term relationships!

The well project at Trees of Glory care-point is making amazing progress - but we still have $7,000 left to raise before we can begin drilling.  With the current drought conditions in Ethiopia, this project is especially urgent.  For more information about the well project, please click here.
