Quenching Thirst in Ethiopia!

The big news on the Trees of Glory well fund-raiser is that we only have $1,500 more to raise!!!

Children's Hopechest has been working to secure the final competitive bids from several different drilling companies that have the equipment to drill the required 6" diameter bore hole (as required by the Ethiopian government for a long-term well) to an approximate 200 meter depth (very deep!) where the pure water aquifer is located!  Drilling permits are in hand, and they estimate that we can begin drilling within about 30 days of when the funds are wired to Ethiopia. 

Our travel team of 23 volunteers from all over the USA will be in Ethiopia in November and its very likely that drilling will have started (and possibly be complete!) by the time we arrive on November 12!!  THANK YOU to each and every person that has donated, prayed and spread the word about this project - YOU have made this happen!!

90 new children will be enrolling at the care-points by September and each child will need a sponsor family.  When children first enroll at the care-points, many are suffering from malnutrition or sickness.  Within a few months of attending the care-point (which provides nutritious food, clean water, medical care, clothing, education and Christian discipleship through your sponsorship of $34 per month) the change in these kids is nothing short of miraculous.  I have been working with these 2 care-points and these kids since January 2010 and I have seen with my own eyes the transformation in these kids!!!
