Awesome Ethiopia Artwork!

We are in the process of fund-raising for a fresh-water well at Trees of Glory care-point in Ethiopia, which currently serves 100 orphaned and destitute children.  Trees of Glory provides nutritious meals, clothing, medical care, education and Christian discipleship for these kids, through a sponsor program from Children's Hopechest (www.hopechest.org).  (I am the sponsor coordinator for Trees of Glory and if you are interested in sponsoring a child, please contact me at kjwistrom@yahoo.com.)

Presently, the staff at Trees of Glory walks to a spigot in the local village each morning, to fill water jugs that they carry to the care-point on the backs of donkeys.

This is one of the yellow jugs sitting outside the bathroom at
Trees of Glory so the kids can wash their hands after using the bathroom.

100 children and the staff and teachers then use that water daily for drinking and washing.  It's a very labor intense process, and once we are able to drill a well on the property, Trees of Glory plans to be able to serve 200-300 children!

Many of our sponsor families are hosting unique and creative fund-raisers for this critical project and I'm excited to announce that Crystal McGowen, an artist that makes very beautiful, custom artwork with Amharic translations of names and bible verses, is donating 10% of her June sales to the Trees of Glory well project.

For anyone interested in Ethiopia, or anyone who has travelled to Ethiopia or has adopted from Ethiopia, these original pieces are a treasured keepsake!  Please check out Crystal's blog and website at www.canvasheart.com and check out her Etsy shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/thecanvasheart?ref=pr_shop.  Crystal is happy to create a custom piece for you with your favorite bible verse or your child's name, tranlated into Amharic.  What a treasure and a beautiful piece of artwork!

Here are just a few of my favorites!

I love the shades of blue in this image!
Crystal will customize your artwork to include colors and
patterns you request, along with your personal favorite bible verse or names.

This is the book of James translated into Amharic and filling Africa with The Word.

I love these last two for an adopted child's room, including their name
tranlated into Amharic along with the bible verse from 1 Samuel 1:27.

Please make your purchase during the month of June and 10% of the proceeds from her June sales will go to the Trees of Glory well project!!
